St. Marys Heritage Fair

On February 21st, the St Marys Museum and the St Marys Historical Society hosted the 18th Annual Heritage Fair. This year's theme was 'Celebrations' featuring artifacts, memorabilia and historic photographs relating to celebrations and special events that have taken place in St Marys' history. Brian and I, along with two other property owners had good reason to celebrate as well, for we were given a special award for the work on the preservation and beautification of our heritage property. The Dusty Victorian is a work in progress, but it was so nice for our efforts to be recognized.

The evening also recognized the valuable work of volunteers in our community. This year, Ken Telfer, Chair of Friends of St Marys Museum (seen here with his lovely wife Fay) was the Volunteer of the Year. Congratulations!

A heartfelt thank you to St Marys Museum, the Historical Society and to the Heritage Committee for the honour and for a lovely evening.
